Modelling, programming, project management, and negotiation skills, which are grounded in practical issues and the experiences of organisations, will give you the competence and confidence to address the grand challenges organisations face. Why Lancaster? You will develop the hybrid skills modern businesses need. Businesses are looking for graduates with data literacy and quantitative skills, alongside a solid understanding of business systems and organisational cultures, who can contextualise problems and think creatively to arrive at practical, cost-efficient solutions. On this course, you will learn the skills needed to work in teams to solve difficult, multi-dimensional problems, deliver reports and presentations, work independently and robustly, and communicate well with a range of people within an organisation. By developing these skills, you will be able to work effectively on projects, understand and analyse data, and contribute to good decision-making. The course includes specialised topics such as operations management, forecasting, optimisation, programming, and negotiation skills. These subjects help build a solid understanding of how data and technologies can be applied to improve performance and generate insight within an organisation so that it can face future challenges. You will be taught these topics using case studies. This approach creates a practical learning environment where you can make the most of your potential. The flexibility to tailor your studies The course offers you the flexibility to pursue your interests. You can tailor your studies through a choice of optional modules and study options.
