Course summary

Join our highly relevant and contemporary International Hospitality and Tourism Management MSc and become equipped with the specialist knowledge and skills required to succeed in this exciting and continually expanding industry. What can I expect from this course? This course allows you to analyse the practices and behaviour of businesses within hospitality and tourism and provides the opportunity to specialise in an area of interest whether this be in innovation and entrepreneurship, hospitality and events, or place and destination management. This course is open to those from any undergraduate background who have an interest in the principles, theories and practices utilised within the hospitality and tourism management sectors. Throughout this postgraduate course you will gain practical management and entrepreneurial skills combined with theory that you will be able to apply on an international scale, preparing you for success in a wide range of careers. One of the optional modules also provides the opportunity to undertake a fieldtrip in Amsterdam, allowing you to see first hand how an international destination is managed.

Assessment method

Your tutors will use a variety of teaching methods, which may include lectures, seminars, problem-based workshops, case discussions, practical activities, group work and tutorials. Teaching is backed up by a well-designed support system that will underpin your learning journey. You will have access to a Guidance Tutor with whom you can discuss any academic issues. Extensive feedback from both tutors and peers is built into the course.


Entry requirements

Applicants should normally have: A minimum of a 2:2 honours degree in any subject, or substantial experience of working in a business organisation.
