Course summary
Our BSc Accountancy Flying Start degree is designed for those who aspire to become ICAEW Chartered Accountants and want to hit the ground running in their careers. Sponsored by PwC and developed with input from the ICAEW, this four-year course offers a unique blend of academic learning and real-world experience. From your second year onwards, you'll gain hands-on experience through paid placements at PwC, working on real projects and building your network. These placements, lasting three to four months each year, will give you a head start in the professional world with support from both Nottingham University Business School and PwC mentors. Throughout the course, you'll build a strong foundation in essential subjects like business finance, financial and management accounting, and business law. Many modules also contribute towards your ACA qualification, helping you stay on track to becoming a Chartered Accountant. You'll have the freedom to tailor your learning by choosing from a range of optional modules, such as entrepreneurship, risk management or corporate governance, allowing you to shape your degree around your interests and career goals. To top it off, you'll have the chance to earn industry-recognised digital certifications from Microsoft and SAP, giving you that extra edge in the job market. By the time you graduate, you'll be well equipped with the knowledge, practical skills and confidence needed to launch your career – and many of our graduates go on to secure positions with PwC. Why choose this course?
- You could become a fully qualified Chartered Accountant just over a year after you graduate! You'll be well prepared to complete the Advanced Level papers of the ICAEW's ACA qualification.
- Nottingham University Business School is proud to be EQUIS, AMBA and AACSB accredited and we're also an ICAEW Partner in Learning – a mark of quality in the field of accountancy.
