Course summary
Research and development in Integrated Micro and Nano Systems (IMNS) combines technology and chip design to address applications in biomedical, biomimetic, quantum, energy, advanced and neural computation. Our researchers use micro and nano fabrication, micro and nano-electronics & photonics, integrated with bespoked circuits and system-on-chip designs to create smart micro- and nano-systems. As a Masters by Research (MScR) student, you will spend the duration of this programme working on a research project. An MScR programme allows you to gain specialist knowledge in your research area, and is sometimes taken as a precursor to a PhD. You will conduct your research as part of the Institute for Integrated Micro and Nano Systems (IMNS), whose work covers the complete spectrum of microelectronics, from design to fabrication, with a particular emphasis on interdisciplinary collaboration.
