Course summary
The English Education MA offers a stimulating and intellectually rigorous programme of academic and professional development, including supervised experience of the conduct of small-scale research. Designed to enable more theoretically informed praxis, it is relevant to practitioners with an interest in the teaching of English literature, literacy, language, media and drama, across all phases of education. Modular (flexible) students - Some postgraduate taught and MRes programmes are available on a modular basis. Modular study lasts between 2 and 5 years. This is different to a part-time study which lasts for a fixed period.
Entry requirements
Normally a minimum of a second-class UK Bachelor's degree in English or a related area (e.g. media or drama) or an overseas qualification of an equivalent standard. Knowledge and experience of teaching English literature, literacy and/or language as a curriculum subject (primary, secondary or tertiary) is essential. English level: Level 2
