Assessment method

Teaching (which typically takes place on a Saturday, to ensure it fits around those working within school and other childcare settings in the week) is through a series of lectures, seminars, tutorials, and interactive workshops. You’ll be encouraged to develop your own interests by choosing an option module after Year 3, You’ll also have a personal tutor, who’ll support your ongoing wellbeing. Assessments include essays, developing creative and teaching resources to support children’s learning, student-led seminars, presentations, and timed tests. Entry requirements

Qualification requirements

If you already have a level 4 or higher qualification such as NVQ level 4 or 5 or Foundation Degree relating to the course you will be considered for entry directly into Year 2 or above. In addition you must also be in employment or voluntary work in an appropriate registered setting (for a minimum of 120 hours per year) and have support from your employer. You must also demonstrate during interview that you have sufficient general academic skills to be able to undertake the course. Other suitable experience or qualifications will be considered. English language requirements

If your first language is not English, you will need to meet the minimum requirements of an English Language qualification. The minimum for IELTS is 6.0 overall with no element lower than 5.5, or equivalent.
