Please see our new * BSC Wildlife Ecology and Conservation course (UCAS code C347).* This degree will give you a detailed understanding of all aspects of conservation science, including the founding principles of ecology, evolution, environmental management. You will then be able to apply this understanding to wildlife conservation. This degree will develop your intellectual and practical skills, as well as your numeracy. This degree will also enhance your communication and IT abilities, your interpersonal and self-management skills and your professionalism in a context specific to the conservation world. This course will give you a specialist knowledge and understanding of:
- The need for an inter- and multi-disciplinary approach to the study and management of wildlife.
- The issues concerning the monitoring and management of wildlife both for their intrinsic value and as a natural resource to be exploited in a sustainable and ethical manner.
- The principles, nomenclature terminology and concepts of applied ecology, ecosystem functions, ecosystem services, environmental policy, conservation science.
- The fundamental ecological, social, and economic concepts and how they relate to wildlife conservation and management importance.
