Course summary
For ambitious and enquiring health and social care professionals wishing to undertake specialist studies, a framework of MSc generic and Named Awards are available. These awards are designed to be flexible and tailored to each student's individual needs. Dependent on your professional background, you can enrol on the MSc Nursing (registered or licensed nurses only) framework or MSc Health Studies framework. Named awards with the framework have core modules. In order to achieve the MSc you will undertake four modules, one of which must relate to research and a second to professional practice then you will complete a practice-focuses dissertation relating to your programme. A number of the awards have particular entry requirements (for example some modules are only available to local students). Each named award has a designated academic lead who will offer support throughout your programme and it is advisable to contact the relevant Programme Lead prior to submitting an application to ensure you are applying for the right award. Each named award is also available at Postgraduate Certificate (two modules) and Postgraduate Diploma (four modules) level. Programmes are run subject to minimum numbers of students.
Entry requirements
You'll normally need to have a degree or equivalent and work in a health or social care related area. We operate a flexible Recognition for Prior Learning (RPL) system by which students who do not have a degree may be eligible for entry. Please check our website for English language requirements.
