Course summary

If you are interested in a career that involves working with people in the sports industry, in the maintenance or improvement of their sporting performance, then BSc (Hons) Sports Therapy and Rehabilitation is the course for you. There are a growing range of employment opportunities for people who want to work in sports therapy. There is also increasing appreciation that people who are involved in sport – whether at professional, amateur or recreational level – need appropriate and specific support to avoid injury, treat injury and plan and provide appropriate post-injury rehabilitation. This course combines both the scientific knowledge and practical skills necessary to become an accomplished sports therapist. You will be taught by our expert team of sports therapy and rehabilitation professionals and have access to excellent on-campus sports facilities. In addition, work placement opportunities will enable you to relate your acquired theoretical knowledge to real-life practices.

The following entry points are available for this course:

  • Year 3

Entry requirements for advanced entry (i.e. into Year 2 and beyond)

Advanced entry to year 2 may be possible with the HNC Soft Tissue Therapy. Advanced entry to year 3 may be possible with the HND Sports Therapy.

International applicants

This course is not currently available for international students (including EU/EEA and Swiss nationals without settled or pre-settled status in the UK) requiring Student Route visa sponsorship to study in the UK.

Qualification requirements

Year 1 of this degree is the HNC Soft Tissue Therapy and Year 2 is the HND Sports Therapy. UHI does not use Tariff points, and accepts a range of qualifications. Applicants with other relevant qualifications or experience will be considered on an individual basis.

This is a Top-Up Degree whereby Year 1 of the course comprises an HNC and in some cases Year 2 an HND.
