The Higher National Certificate in Quantity Surveying for England is a level 4 qualification that includes enhanced work-related curriculum that is designed to address an increasing need for high quality professional and technically competent staff. Aligned to the occupational standard for Construction Quantity Surveying Technician it has been quality marked as a Higher Technical Qualification. It aims to develop students as professional, self-reflecting individuals able to meet the demands of employers in the construction sector and adapt to a constantly changing world. The course is designed to help students secure the knowledge, skills and behaviours needed to succeed in the workplace. It represents the latest in professional standards and provides opportunities for students to develop behaviours for work, for example by undertaking a group project, or responding to a client brief. The course will provide you with the critical skills and practical competencies sought by employers and required for progression to further higher education study such as the HND in Quantity Surveying in England. This programme is an excellent progression option from the successful completion of the Level 3 BTEC National Certificate/Diploma or Extended Diploma in Construction or Civil Engineering. Preference will be given to merit grade students. Students with considerable experience with the industry will also be considered. This course is delivered either full-time two days per week over 1 year or part-time, one day per week over 2 years, making it an excellent option for those employed in the sector who are looking to further develop their skills.
