The MRes Emerging Psychology degree is a multidisciplinary research training programme with a specialised focus on educational leadership and change. Combining rigorous training in advanced research skills with personalised research projects that build deep subject knowledge in Psychology, this exciting postgraduate programme is designed to inspire your imagination, foster your creativity and support you in becoming an exemplary leader. The University of Greater Manchester's Master's by Research (MRes) in Emerging Psychology is a multidisciplinary research training programme designed to be truly novel and sui generis. It is designed to inspire the imagination and foster creativity while providing rigorous training in advanced research skills and deep subject knowledge. The programme is delivered through a staged and flexible approach, enabling you to develop research skills in preparation for a PhD or Professional Doctorate. You will have opportunities to undertake applied research projects involving knowledge exchange. The MRes programme will provide a common foundation for PhD or Professional Doctorate programmes. An interim award is available following the gaining of 60 credits (PgCert), and an exit award of the 180-credit MRes is available. The MRes in Emerging Psychology is designed to incorporate the latest developments in Psychology. All the staff on the course are all PhD holders. The focus is going to prepare you to conduct a substantial piece of Psychology research in an agreed field that we hope will be of such a good standard that it can be published. The School of Psychology is equipped with the latest state-of-the-art equipment, ranging from eye tracking, face reading, EEG, and a VR lab. The School has a range of experts across the wide field of Psychology covering social psychology, counselling, trauma, forensic, sport, positive psychology, cyberpsychology and cognitive neuroscience.
