Course summary

Our MA/MSc Design Innovation programme will help you engage with design and innovation as drivers for change in organisations, generating insight from across the creative and strategic domains. You will learn from the most influential thought leaders, pioneering researchers and creative innovators, who will expose you to the latest theories and developments in the field. You will have access to the latest knowledge, debates and issues in design and innovation, enhancing your creative, strategic and collaboration skills through a mixture of active learning and project work. Each module will develop your design innovation knowledge by analysing and evaluating current practices, issues and debates and provide you with the opportunity to respond to genuine industry challenges. Our inspiring learning environment will encourage you to think creatively and improve your effectiveness as a professional in the fields of design, innovation and strategy. Taking part in projects with real organisations will provide you with experience of working in cross-cultural and interdisciplinary design teams, facilitating the development of skills that are essential across a range of disciplines.


Entry requirements

A 2:2 honours degree (or equivalent international qualification) in design (eg engineering design, fashion design, art and design), innovation, business, media, technology or a related subject. Applicants from non-design backgrounds must have achieved 55% or above in their final year.


English language requirements

English Language requirements: IELTS 6.5 overall, with a minimum of 6.0 in each subtest (Reading, Listening, Writing and Speaking) or equivalent.

The tuition fees shown are for new students commencing the first year of study in the specified year only. The fee stated is for a full-time student undertaking a master’s programme of 180 credits. Part-time students, or those taking a postgraduate certificate or a postgraduate diploma, should divide the published fee by 180 credits and then multiply by the number of credits they are taking to calculate their tuition fees. Fees are reviewed annually and are likely to increase to take into account inflationary pressures.
