Course summary

Develop the design mindset and skills to instill positive change in and across organisations on our MA / MSc Design Innovation, based in Loughborough London’s dynamic campus on the former Olympic Park. Across sectors, there’s a growing awareness of the value of design and innovation. Not just for operational efficiency but to help organisations address pressing environmental and socio-cultural challenges. It means there’s high demand for specialists with a creative and strategic design mindset, combined with robust collaboration skills. On this master’s, you’ll explore key topics like design in organisations, design thinking, service design strategy and design research. Build your understanding of how organisations use design to drive change internally and across their ecosystems. You’ll also examine how design and innovation practices apply to current issues and debates in areas like sustainability, inclusivity and digitalisation. Assessment method

You can expect to complete essays and reports of varying lengths, as well as presentations, journal entries and projects.


Entry requirements

A 2:2 honours degree (or equivalent international qualification) in design (eg engineering design, fashion design, art and design), innovation, business, media, technology or a related subject. Applicants from non-design backgrounds must have achieved 55% or above in their final year.


English language requirements

English Language requirements: IELTS 6.5 overall, with a minimum of 6.0 in each subtest (Reading, Listening, Writing and Speaking) or equivalent.
