Course summary

The Accelerated Digital Marketing degree course will develop your knowledge and skills in marketing communications, reflecting the changes in industry demand for specialist digital marketeers. As a graduate with a Digital Marketing degree, you could have a successful career as a Digital Marketing professional or specialise in a specific area such as content, SEO, Social Media, email, PR and Communications or Web Design. By studying Digital Marketing at degree level, you will develop a solid understanding of the role of marketing within an organisation. You will learn about fundamental marketing processes and developments within contemporary digital marketing to become an expert in planning, executing and evaluating digital marketing campaigns. This course involves a significant amount of practical application and the opportunity to experience live client projects and case studies. You will also: Examine current issues in marketing management and design and the growing ethical issues in online marketing. Understand the key concepts in marketing research including quantitative and qualitative research methods. Develop skills to commission, manage, interpret and use marketing information Explore a range of communication tools in a Digital Marketeers toolbox, such as Advertising, Direct Marketing, Personal Selling, PR and publicity Learn how to develop a content strategy and the best practices when writing and designing for Digital, including websites, e-newsletters, social media or news articles and understand them. Become an expert in planning, executing and evaluating digital marketing campaigns.

Modules

Level 4 subject-Specific modules:   Principles of Marketing   An introduction to the aspects of marketing processes and discover how they apply in real life marketing situations. Examine current issues in marketing management and design such as how the service industry businesses has needed to adapt to a rapidly changing digital environment.  Marketing Research   Get to grips with key concepts and techniques in marketing research. Develop skills to commission, manage, interpret and use marketing information. This module covers both quantitative and qualitative research methods, as well as how to run and manage research projects.  Marketing Communications   You will explore traditional and contemporary perspectives on integrated marketing communications, with a focus on how persuasive communications might influence the judgements, attitudes and behaviour of audiences. You will take look at a range of communication tools, such as Advertising, Direct Marketing, Personal Selling, PR and publicity. This module will involve a significant amount of practical work.   Writing and Design for Digital   An insight into the best practices when writing and designing for digital, such as websites, e-newsletters, social media or news articles. Develop your content creation skills for the web, with understanding of how content is consumed by the target audience, as well as the technical aspect of writing and designing for search engines.  Level 5 subject-Specific modules:   Digital Marketing Toolbox  Content Strategy  Consumer and Consumption   Digital Campaign Planning    Level 6 subject-Specific modules:   Brand and Online Community Management  Digital Marketing Ethics  Contemporary Developments in Digital Marketing  Project You will undertake a substantial Digital Marketing project which will consolidate your academic experience, knowledge and skills gained during your studies

Assessment method

• Across this scheme of study, candidates will be exposed to a range of assessment instruments, such that they will have as wide a range of opportunities as possible to demonstrate their knowledge, understanding, skills and competencies, along with the security of their attainment of the module and programme intended learning outcomes. • Assessments will include individual and group work, which is undertaken and submitted in a range of relevant formats. • In addition to formative in-module assessment there will be assessments undertaken at the conclusion of individual modules. These will draw upon a range of instruments of assessment which are appropriate to the module and programme learning outcomes being assessed.

Qualified teacher status (QTS)

To work as a teacher at a state school in England or Wales, you will need to achieve qualified teacher status (QTS). This is offered on this course for the following level:
