Course summary

Our FdA Sports Media programme is designed to develop you to be industry-ready with exceptional working knowledge of the sports media industry. You’ll spend your time working with a wide range of platforms and technologies to create professional sports media content. We have strong working links with numerous local professional clubs, with whom we have produced a variety of content for, these relationships ensure you will benefit from real-world experience within the sports media industry. We have worked with Bristol Bears, Bristol City, Bristol Rovers and many other local clients, and you will have industry insight from staff who have worked at the Telegraph, Times, BBC Radio Bristol, Bristol Post, BBC and other publications and media outlets. During your studies you will have access to our state-of-the-art facilities, TV studio, live-streaming facilities and gantry. A range of core modules will be studied alongside our BA Media Production students creating a richer learning environment by sharing practice across disciplines. You will also undertake specialist sports media modules where you will develop technical skills and knowledge for sports video production, creating content for social media, sports feature writing and producing sports audio content. Our delivery model is designed to support graduate success as well as progression to our Level 6 Top-up BA (Hons) Media Production, ensuring you are technically skilled and professionally prepared to pursue a range of employment opportunities. We will consider evidence of your relevant personal, professional or educational experience where it demonstrates an ability and potential to succeed on the course. Please include details of any relevant experience in your application. If English isn't your first language you will need to undertake an IELTS qualification achieving an overall grade of 6 with no less than 5.5 in any band (or equivalent) GSCE requirements: GCSE English and Maths grade C or 4.
