Course summary
The HNC Level 4 programme lays the foundation of learning by providing a broad introduction to construction and different construction management functions. This develops and strengthens core skills while preparing you for specialist subjects at Level 5 or to enter employment with the qualities necessary for job roles that require some personal responsibility. You will study in our state-of-the-art purpose-built Construction Centre (CUBE) and be taught by industry experts. This HTQ provides the opportunity to gain the proper training, knowledge and skills to be successful in the workplace. Applications are welcome after the January deadline
Modules
You will gain a wide range of construction knowledge linked to practical skills gained through research, independent study, directed study and workplace scenarios. You are involved in vocational activities that will help you to develop behaviours (the attitudes and approaches required for competence) and transferable skills such as communication, teamwork, research and analysis, which are highly valued in Higher Education and in the workplace. By the end of Level 4, you will have sound knowledge of the basic concepts of construction; be competent in a range of subject-specific skills; as well as holding the general skills and qualities relevant to key areas of construction. Units of study: Unit 1: Construction Design Project (Pearson-set) Unit 4: The Construction Environment Unit 2: Construction Technology Unit 5: Legal and Statutory Requirements in Construction Unit 26: Digital Applications for Building Information Modelling Unit 11: Financial Management and Business Practices in Construction Unit 12: Tender and Procurement Unit 13: Building Information Modelling
Assessment method
You will be assessed by synoptic exams and completion of assignments that will assess knowledge and understanding from across the qualification.

You will need: A BTEC Level 3 qualification in Construction GCSE English and Maths at Grade 4/C or above Other related Level 3 qualification including an Access to Higher Education Diploma Relevant work experience Or hold an international qualification equivalent to the above
