Our Business with Finance degree gives you the skills and confidence to excel in your career. With a strong focus on strategic thinking and financial management, our course also embraces hands-on learning. You want to be a manager who makes critical business decisions, you have an entrepreneurial mindset, and you’re eager to develop your leadership abilities and financial know-how. As a Business with Finance student at ARU, you’ll get all the prowess of a business degree, along with the financial discipline to make big, informed decisions. Get practical experience with our Bloomberg Financial Markets Lab, and an optional placement year. You’ll find that our Business with Finance course brings together the entrepreneurial approach and analytical mindset you need to succeed. ARU’s teaching facilities include our Bloomberg Financial Markets Lab, where you’ll be able to practice your skills from the first year. It will be your safe space to learn all the tricks of the trade. This way, you’ll be ready for your first graduate role with proficiency in contemporary platforms that are used around the financial world. Receiving an industry-recognised Bloomberg certification on graduation will only increase your pool of career options. From chartered management accountant and credit analyst, through management consultant and corporate investment banker, to bank manager, marketing executive, project manager or environmental manager – the routes after this degree are immeasurable. From an employer’s perspective, the confidence you will gain in understanding the financial side of a business — and being able to think critically at this level — makes you an ideal candidate for a more senior role. Industry leaders want graduates they can hire, so they work with us to design courses. Your problem solving skills will be tested as you’re presented with actual business challenges, giving you a taste of real world business management and a chance to prove yourself. Modules

Level 4 modules: Global Business Environment and International Strategy, Introduction to Business Contracts and the Law, Organisational Behaviour, Digital Business and Principles of Marketing, Introduction to Financial Analysis and Management. Level 5 modules: Financial Management, Introduction to Financial Reporting, The Entrepreneurial Journey, Project Management and Implementation, Ruskin Module (Optional). Level 6 modules: Strategic Management, Sustainability and Responsible Business, Advanced Corporate Finance, Undergraduate Major Project

Assessment method

You’ll be assessed by examination, coursework, essays and activity based assignments. Your coursework could include problem-solving activities, consultancy projects, presentations, computer-based exams, a portfolio based on Bloomberg trading and group or individual reports. You'll also be able to access support materials through our Learning Management System (Canvas).
