We encourage a fresh and innovative approach to work, and students will be able to determine their own projects through the choice of modules such as: Business, Planning and Marketing CAD/CAM Design Analysis Furniture Design and Make Materials Technology Production Methods and Techniques Production Technology Visual Communication. Assessment method
Teaching, learning and assessment approaches have been designed to promote the transfer of learning between modules and between academic and work-based activities. Personal and professional development and the integration of learning are promoted through the use of a learning contract. Teaching is normally delivered by a mixture of formal lectures, seminars, workshops, case studies and field visits supported by live project work. There are visiting lecturers from industry and you may additionally enjoy the opportunity to attend site visits and presentations given by employers and specialists. Assessment involves a combination of coursework, presentation exercises and examinations.

General Studies accepted. 1 GCSE ‘A’ level in appropriate subject plus 4 GCSE A, B or C grade or equivalent; BTEC National Diploma in Furniture Studies or; BTEC National Diploma in Art and Design or; GNVQ Art and Design or; NVQ Level 3 Furniture Studies or; City and Guilds Advances Furniture Studies or; Demonstrable relevant experience and commitment demonstrated through interview. Applications from individuals with non-standard qualifications, relevant work or life experience and who can demonstrate the ability to cope with and benefit from degree-level studies, are welcome and these applicants will be interviewed.
