Modules
Applied Programming for Data Science: This unit aims to develop learners' understanding of data science principles and approaches for analysing various types of data. It provides hands-on experience and practical skills to design and implement solutions to real-world data science challenges using relevant programming tools and techniques. Blockchain and Distributed Ledger Technologies: This unit aims to develop learners' skills and knowledge in Blockchain technology, its applications, and distributed ledger platforms. It covers fundamental concepts, challenges, cryptography basics, cryptocurrencies, and includes case studies for critical evaluation, along with an in-depth analysis of distributed ledger technologies. Digital Transformation in Global FinTech: This unit aims to develop learners' skills and knowledge in key technologies driving digital transformation in finance, including blockchain, big data, and AI. It covers their impact on traditional financial models, opportunities and challenges in FinTech, compliance and risk management, and effective communication of technological choices. Data Processing and Analytics: This unit aims to develop learners' skills and knowledge in data modelling, processing, and analytics. It covers building scalable data pipelines and addressing big data challenges using appropriate platforms for specific problem domains. Industrial Skills and Professional Issues (FinTech): This unit aims to develop learners' understanding of industrial skills and professional issues related to their field. It enhances hands-on experience and practical skills through teamwork-based projects. IT Governance and Ethics: This unit aims to explore managing information systems (IS) and information technology (IT) in modern organisations, including alignment with business strategy, stakeholders, and governance. It covers risk management, governance, law, regulation, privacy, and online rights, using case studies and considering personal and professional issues.

The normal requirements for embarking upon this course are: A Bachelors Honours degree with 2:2 in a relevant subject, or equivalent Relevant subjects include: a computing discipline, finance or a relevant quantitative discipline (for example business, accounting, economics).
