Course summary

This is a specialised programme that focuses on the intersection between finance and technology. This programme equips you with the knowledge and skills required to navigate the rapidly evolving landscape of the financial industry, leveraging technological advancements and innovations. With this MSc, you can broaden your understanding of modern banking in general and gain a deeper understanding of current challenges and develop skills in:

Modern banks, financial institutions and businesses need senior people with expertise in fintech, sustainable finance, and risk and compliance. This programme exposes you to theories and empirical applications not only in FinTech but banking and finance more broadly, using cases and examples. You will develop both theoretical and applied perspectives as well as a range of specialist skills which you will be able to apply to any organisation in the financial services industry. The programme provides you with knowledge and a practical understanding, from a FinTech perspective of the banking and finance landscape and the international and regulatory environments in which organisations operate. Our academics are subject matter experts and have hands-on industry experience, allowing you to examine real-life scenarios and case studies to give you practical understanding. You’ll also attain chartered status and advance your banking career. Study full or part time, entirely online and you can start your course at a time of year that fits with your schedule and access the course whenever and wherever suits you.

Entry requirements

To attain a place on the MSc in Banking & Finance, you need either: a 2.1 honours degree, or equivalent, from a recognised institution, or to have achieved Chartered Associateship with us through the ‘qualification’ route. If you have equivalent experience and qualifications, we will consider your application and may still accept you even if you don't precisely meet the requirements above. In this case, you will need to show that you can achieve at master’s level. We may ask to interview you or require an extra piece of written work with your application. If English is not your first language, you will need to achieve an International English Language Testing System (IELTS) score of at least 6.5 or equivalent.
