Course summary
This degree is perfect for you if you have an interest in both business management and modern languages. It encompasses essential aspects of business and management, while also giving you the opportunity to acquire competence in a modern language. In the first year, you will explore various languages through taster sessions, allowing you to experience Mandarin, French, Italian, German, and Spanish before selecting one language as your focus. In the second year, you will follow Beginners’ language modules, while in the final year, you'll advance to the intermediate level. As your studies progress you will also learn how to use your foreign language in a professional environment. The third year of this 4-year course with a Year in Industry will be spent on placement. You will have the opportunity to gain real-world industry experience and develop your employability skill set. We have a strong network of industry contacts, and you will receive dedicated support from our in-house employability team, ranging from CV advice through to mock interviews. Our Business Management degrees are accredited by the Chartered Management Institute (CMI) and Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), providing you with industry-focused teaching and a wealth of professional skills to enhance your employability on graduation. Our Final Year Projects also enhance your career potential, by working in partnership with real companies on real business-related issues.
Modules
In Year 1, you will typically study areas including: Accounting for Managers, Key Skills for Business, The Global Context of Organisation, Managing People. In Year 2, you will typically study areas including: Economics for Business, Employability Skills, Strategic Analysis. In Year 3, you undertake a One year industrial placement. In Year 4, you will typically study areas including: International Human Resource Management, Power and Organisation, Data Mining, Application Development. You will also undertake a Final Year Project.
Assessment method
We offer a variety of assessment methods within our programmes.
