Course summary

Psychology is the study of the mind and human behaviour. Applied psychology places particular emphasis on its application in real-life and clinical contexts. The Applied Psychology BSc (Hons) degree course aims to provide you with a solid grounding for building a career in psychology-related disciplines, an understanding of the disciplines found within psychology and an awareness of how these are used when working with clients. Vocational modules allow you to understand how the key theories of psychology are applied in the professional context. The course will also explore the use of psychology in areas such as health, education, sport, forensics, clinical and the law. This allows you to learn about psychology in practice from different perspectives. The opportunities to gain real-world exposure will also be developed across the course through engagement with a variety of psychologists from different fields (subject to availability). If you choose to leave the degree course after successfully passing Year 1, you will be eligible for a Higher National Certificate (HNC) in Applied Psychology. If you choose to leave the degree course after successfully passing Year 2, you will be eligible for a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Applied Psychology. Qualification requirements

All applications are considered on an individual basis and the whole application is reviewed which includes previous and predicted qualifications, experience, reference and your motivation to study the course. The University also accepts the BTEC Level 3 National Extended Certificate/BTEC Level 3 Subsidiary Diploma and BTEC Level 3 National Diploma/BTEC Level 3 Diploma for entry onto degree programmes, provided that they are studied in combination with other qualifications that are equivalent to three A2 Levels. This may include subject specific requirements where necessary. If you are successful in receiving an offer, you will be invited to an Applicant Visit Day to discover more about the course and studying at Coventry University Group.
