Our Economics MA is designed to provide you with the theoretical knowledge and practical skills to succeed in a range of careers. You'll develop comprehensive knowledge of advanced economic concepts, the expertise to make complex economic decisions, and a socially responsible mindset grounded in ethical and sustainable practices. You'll explore advanced micro and macroeconomic theory, from decision-making, fiscal sustainability and monetary policy to examining the impact of new challenges such as AI and financial innovation. There’s an emphasis on how societies around the world are changing their economic systems, social frameworks, and technologies to adapt to global challenges such as energy security and climate migration. Public sector economics and policy making are studied, tackling real-world challenges such as spending on key areas including health, welfare and education. You’ll also build practical skills in key tools such as cost benefit analysis and social choice theory to support effective evidence-based policy decisions.
