The Acting & Theatre Making CertHE aims to support the actor to develop in training while allowing them to discover themselves as an artist, fully preparing them for the next step in their professional career, supported by our dedicated team of industry professionals and practitioners. Through training on this course, you will be able to feed your curiosity, creativity and confidence as a performer and / or maker. Through the exploration of a variety of vocal, movement and acting practices as well as those in the development of your own work, you will be given the chance to truly discover your creative forte and consequently your place in this industry. As you begin to find and explore the right path for you and your creative career our dedicated team will prepare you for the onward steps in your learning through professionally guided preparation for entry into further training. Designed for those at the start of their professional acting journey, training is intensive and full-time on the CertHE Acting & Theatre Making course with workshops, seminars, rehearsals and performance explored through Fourth Monkey’s unique vocational thematic structure of  ACT. MAKE. MOVE. COLLABORATE with the aim of successful onward progression to further undergraduate study. This course is taught at Fourth Monkey in London, and awarded by Falmouth University.

Modules

Dynamic full-time training in acting, text, movement and voice, incorporating screen acting, audition preparation, puppetry, clown and much more all taught by experienced industry professionals in a professional creative, inclusive learning environment. Students gain real-world industry knowledge alongside practical experience in technique classes, workshops and masterclasses in disciplines such as; Meisner, Uta Hagen, Laban, Lecoq, Screen Acting, Classical & Contemporary Scene Study and Stage Combat. Perfomance preparation closes out your time training with us, where, unlike other drama school foundation courses, you are given opportunity to showcase your skills as imaginative intuitive, actors, performers, and creative artists in public performances at the conclusion of the CertHE course. We regret that this course is not available to international applicants who would require a Student Visa. If English is not your first language, you will need to demonstrate English language skills that are sufficiently developed for successful completion of your studies. We accept a range of recognised English language qualifications that are equivalent to the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) Academic minimum score of 6.0 overall, with a minimum of 5.5 in Reading, Writing, Speaking and Listening.
