Course summary

The move to cleaner economic growth is one of the greatest industrial challenges and opportunities of our time. The offshore wind industry underpins UK solutions to this challenge to reduce carbon emissions in line with the UK’s climate 2050 commitments. There's no better place study an MSc in Offshore Wind Energy. The University of Hull is leading the way in renewable energies and low carbon futures through Aura and the Energy and Environment Institute. Due to our favourable geography, local expertise and government support, the Humber Estuary in particular is now the globally leading location for offshore wind development and employment. On this degree, you'll gain a multidisciplinary understanding of the offshore wind industry and its relationship and environment, as well as developing professional skills and collaborative working.

How to apply

International applicants

If you require a Student visa to study or if your first language is not English you will be required to provide acceptable evidence of your English language proficiency level. This course requires academic IELTS 7.0 overall, with no less than 6.5 in each skill. See other English language proficiency qualifications accepted by this University. If your English currently does not reach the University's required standard for this programme, you may be interested in one of our English language courses.

This course has a subject classification which requires students whose nationality is outside the European Economic Area (EEA) or Switzerland to have an ATAS certificate, irrespective of country of residence at the point of application.

Entry requirements

First class honours degree or a 2:1 honours degree and a Masters in any of the following, or associated subjects: Biology Chemistry Computer science Earth science Engineering Geography Mathematics Physics Psychology In order to ensure our students have a rich learning and student experience, most of our programmes have a mix of domestic and international students. We reserve the right to close applications early to either group, if application volumes suggest that this blend cannot be achieved. In addition, existing undergraduate students at the University of Hull have a guaranteed ‘Fast Track’ route to any postgraduate programme, subject to meeting the entry criteria.
