If you love the written and spoken word, this course is for you. In this comprehensive and stimulating introduction to English language and literature, it investigates how the English language is used in a variety of global contexts, and analyse literature from different historical periods and in diverse cultural settings. You’ll explore writing and speech in a wide range of forms, and develop your skills in the interpretation of literary and non-literary texts. Key features of the course

Modules
You’ll start Stage 1 with a broad introduction to the arts and humanities and by beginning your study of the English language. Next, in Stage 2, you’ll choose between two option modules on English literature and study one compulsory module that examines the development and diversity of the English language. Finally, in Stage 3, you’ll complete your degree with two advanced modules, one on English language and one onEnglish literature.
