If you have a passion for sports and a skill for storytelling, the MA Journalism (Sports) will kick-start your career in sports media. You will study core modules from the MA Journalism programme, with the opportunity to choose to study = dedicated modules that cover all aspects of the sports media industry, from live events, interviews, press conferences to features writing and news reporting. The MA Journalism (Sports) equips you with the full range of multimedia production skills across print, digital, audio and video. As well as core journalism skills such as reporting and interviewing, we’ll teach you the fundamentals of audience engagement and developing social media strategies, so you can make sure your stories are seen. This professional/practice master’s enables you either to start a career in journalism, or to undertake continuing professional development. It is suitable for those who have the required academic qualifications, but without any prior experience in journalism. It is also suitable for those with journalistic experience, but who may not have the academic qualifications normally required. It appeals to those looking for entry level jobs, those seeking a career as a freelancer, or students who are looking to launch their own start-up in the media sector. The course is offered full and part-time, making it ideal for those with existing family or career commitments.

Entry requirements
UK Applicants should hold an upper second class honours degree, or the equivalent from an internationally recognised institution. Consideration may also be given to mature applicants with relevant work experience. Pre-requisites Applicants should demonstrate a knowledge of podcasting, and a strong interest in one or more podcasting genres. We especially welcome those with work experience in radio or audio. Other suitable qualifications As well as new graduates, we also welcome applications from mature applicants with substantial work experience in radio and/or television journalism. City St George’s International Study Centre Don’t meet the entry requirements? City St George’s International Study Centre offers a range of academic and English language programmes to help prepare you for study at City St George's. You’ll learn from experienced teachers in a dedicated international study centre. These programmes are designed for international students who do not meet the required academic and English language requirements for direct entry. To prepare for this degree course, learn more about the Graduate Diploma in Journalism. If you're a national of a recognised majority English-speaking country as defined by the government, or have previously completed a university degree (or equivalent) in one, you will not need to prove your knowledge of English to apply for the course. Please note that if your country is not defined as majority-English-speaking by the government you will need to demonstrate you meet the English language requirements for the course. IELTS academic test with an overall score of 7.0, with no less than 5.5 in any subtest. TOEFL test with a score of at least 100, with a minimum of 17 in Listening, 18 in Reading, 17 in Writing and 20 in Speaking. We will also accept an equivalent score in any of the tests listed under the English language requirements section. You must have completed the qualification no more than two years prior to the start of the course.
