Modules
Your training is delivered through MyAberdeen, our online Virtual Learning Environment (VLE). It holds all the materials, tools and support you’ll need in your studies. Teaching is delivered through a combination of asynchronous and synchronous learning activities, designed to offer flexibility and engagement.Enjoy problem-based and project-based learning that gives you plenty of hands-on experience, ensuring you can apply theoretical knowledge to real-world educational challenges. Teaching will feature live online sessions, where you can interact live with your tutors and peers, taking part in real-time discussions. While live attendance is encouraged, it is not mandatory due to the flexible nature of the programme.
Assessment method
You’ll be able to engage with content at your own pace, with clear deadlines for assessments. This degree is assessed online. We’ll use several types of online assessment throughout your studies, including: multiple-choice quizzes; short-answer tests; essays, and presentations.

Our distance learning MSc Decommissioning is delivered flexibly online. You can learn with us anywhere, with no need for a study visa, and set your own study hours to suit you.
Entry requirements
A UK Honours degree at 2:2 (lower second class) or equivalent in a relevant subject. You are also welcome to apply if you have other relevant qualifications, and professional experience with supportive references.

To study for a postgraduate degree at the University of Aberdeen it is essential that you can speak, understand, read, and write academic English fluently. These skills will allow you to understand lectures, produce high standards of written work, and perform well in examinations. We can assess your English language proficiency through a variety of means: through your nationality, through the qualifications you gained in high school, through the degree you undertook or are undertaking at university, or through a recognised English language test. Postgraduate Standard requirements are used by the Schools of Biological Sciences; Engineering; Geosciences; Medicine, Medical Sciences and Nutrition; Natural and Computing Sciences; and Psychology. Please note certification must be within the two years prior to commencement of your course, unless otherwise stated.
