Course summary
This course has been developed to provide an arts-based progression route to Honours level for those who have completed a Foundation degree (or equivalent), whether this is media based, fashion, photography, fine art or other forms. The structure of this programme blends practical and exhibition/project work with the in-depth study of contextual issues in the art world. We deliver a diverse learning opportunity that will enable you to develop skills whilst gaining an academic understanding in your arts practice. We ensure that you will emerge with knowledge, skills and understanding which will benefit you throughout your career. Previous graduates from the course have gone into a wide variety of jobs after graduation such as: Self-employed artists or designers Teaching Art Ambassador for drawing tablet manufacturer Content and Media Manager for real estate Motion producer – video production for events and exhibitions Project co-ordinator for local preservation trust Product Development Theatre Technician Set Designer Boutique Owner/Designer Graduates who have decided to continue on an academic pathway have studied at Masters level in subjects such as: Fine Art Fashion American Studies Cultural Heritage Museums Studies Whist this is a full-time course, typically this course generally only requires 1-2 days on campus attendance, supported by self-directed study. This means you can continue to work alongside your studies and balance other commitments. This programme is not open to students requiring a Student visa to study in the UK.
