Our Education and Professional Development BA(Hons) course is aimed at those working either within the education and training sector or related areas – including health, careers, and the uniformed services – who are keen to further their professional knowledge and skills. The course is predominantly delivered via an innovative ‘blended learning’ style, which combines face-to-face Saturday day schools and creative online activities with individual and collaborative study. This course will strengthen your confidence in critical debate and you’ll enterprise in leading ideas, developing the ability to influence policy. Assessment method
You’ll build your knowledge to extend the cognitive and practical skills required within teaching and learning, exploring new ways of developing and understanding contemporary good practice. You’ll also undertake research on contemporary educational challenges and strategies. You’ll be taught via full-day workshops and day-schools (normally taking place on Saturdays) held at the University of Huddersfield, via our online learning network and through work-based learning projects. You’ll also participate in virtual seminars and discussion groups. Assessments include essays, presentations, reports, and a major empirical study. A Personal Academic Tutor will be assigned to you, supporting you throughout your studies. Your module specification/course handbook will provide full details of the assessment criteria.

Entry requirements for this course are normally one of the following: * Cert Ed or level 5 teaching/training/education qualification * Foundation Degree from the University of Huddersfield Candidates not meeting the above academic requirements but who are able to demonstrate significant and relevant experience will be considered on an individual basis. Please get in contact for further advice. In addition you must also demonstrate at least two years teaching or training experience and be in an educational or training role.
