Why study this course? Our four-year Business Management and Marketing (including foundation year) BA (Hons) degree has a built-in foundation year (Year 0) that provides you with an alternative route into higher education if you don't have traditional qualifications, or can't meet the entry requirements for an undergraduate degree in business. The foundation year will give you a confidence boost in an academic environment, helping you feel more prepared to move on to our three-year Business Management and Marketing course. This course is accredited by the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM). More about this course Our Business Management and Marketing (including foundation year) BA (Hons) degree will prepare you for an exciting career in business, as a professional marketer or as a business owner. If you want to start your own business, we even have our own business incubator, Accelerator, which provides entrepreneurs with support, networks and resources to help make your dream a reality. Your foundation year will be shared with other students on business-related foundation year courses. Sharing ideas and insights with other students in related subjects will help you broaden your horizons. If you decide you’d like to change your degree to a different area of business, you have the flexibility to do this. Once you’ve passed your foundation year, your next three years of study will be the same as our Business Management and Marketing degree. You'll graduate with the same title and award as those who studied the traditional three-year course. Example Year 0 modules include: Using and Managing Data and Information; Orientation for Success in Higher Education; Development for Success in Business; The Context of Business. Example Year 1 modules include: Principles of Management; Principles of Marketing; Understanding and Managing Data; Practice of Marketing; Digital Business Management and Emerging Technologies; Understanding the Business and Economic Environment; Learning Through Organisations; Managing People in Organisations. Example Year 2 modules include: Leadership in Practice; Consumer Insights; The Practice of Consultancy; International Selling and Negotiation; Creating a Winning Business; Learning Through Work; Marketing Communications; Digital Marketing; Sustainability, Business and Responsibility; Online Fashion Retailing; Consumer PR & Media Relations; Developing Inclusive Organisations; Open Language; Preparation for Work Based Learning. Example Year 3 modules include: Consultancy Project; Leading Innovation; Social Marketing; Practising Business Strategy; Global Marketing and Sales in the Digital Age; Strategic Marketing; Brand Management; Artificial Intelligence and Big Data in Business; Communication Theory.

Assessment method

You’ll be assessed through a variety of methods such as coursework, portfolio work, problem-solving case studies, research projects and assignments based on business-related simulations.

English language requirements

To study a degree at London Met, you must be able to demonstrate proficiency in the English language. If you require a Tier 4 student visa you may need to provide the results of a Secure English Language Test (SELT) such as Academic IELTS. If you need (or wish) to improve your English before starting your degree, the University offers a Pre-sessional Academic English course to help you build your confidence and reach the level of English you require.
