Course summary

Complement your study of the core concepts of business and management with specialist modules in accounting – and broaden your skills and experience by studying overseas – with our BSc Business and Management (Accounting) with Study Year Abroad degree. This flexible, four-year course, taught by experts from Henley Business School, equips you with the fundamental skills of business – from theory and practice to their real-world applications – while also allowing you get a more in-depth understanding of accounting. You’ll enrich this learning and broaden your life experience with an integrated Study Year Abroad. You’ll study the core disciplines that underpin business – including economics, psychology and sociology – as well as more specialist accounting subjects such as:

  • international financial accounting
  • data analytics
  • management accounting.
In the wider context of business, you’ll explore:
  • international strategy
  • marketing
  • organisational behaviour
  • operations
  • entrepreneurship
  • human resource management.
You’ll learn through a combination of lectures, seminars, practical workshops, and self-guided study. This will provide the opportunity to discuss subject materials in an in-depth way with your lecturers and fellow students. Throughout your studies, you will:
  • explore the interdisciplinary nature of business
  • apply the skills and knowledge you learn to current business problems
  • study the emerging challenges facing global markets.
Triple-accredited status from the UK, European and US accrediting bodies (AMBA, EQUIS and AACSB). In your third year, you’ll have the opportunity to continue your studies at one of our overseas partner universities. The following modules have been approved in principle for delivery in 2025/26. Please note that as part of our current curriculum improvement process, all modules require final University approval and may be subject to change. Core modules for this course: Business in Practice: Data Analytics; Developing Professional Excellence; Business in Practice: Accounting for Managers; Building Competitive Advantage: Business Strategy and Operations; Advanced International Financial Reporting. The University cannot guarantee that all optional modules will be available to all students who may wish to take them.
