Royal Academy Opera offers opportunities for keyboard players wanting to specialise as répétiteurs. These Professional Diploma students work in a wide variety of repertoire (spanning the 17th to the 21st centuries) in a variety of languages, closely guided and coached by the highly distinguished professors and directors of the Royal Academy Opera and Vocal Faculty. Our singing and opera professors are dedicated teachers and active performers with professional musical careers of all kinds. Candidates may be recommended for a Repetiteur Fellowship depending on their audition assessment and their immigration status. Principal study options

During the application and audition process, you must select which instrument(s) you wish to specialise in for the duration of your course. On this course, you can choose from the following options:

Main specialism

Only one specialism is studied. It may be possible to study a further instrument, but this will not contribute towards the qualification.

Instrument/specialisms

For all courses, you must select at least one specialism from the 'primary' list. For those studying primary/secondary pathways, two instruments may be selected – one from the 'primary' list and one from the 'secondary' list. Joint pathway students may select any two instruments from either list.

The application deadline for this course is 10 January 2025. All First Round assessments will be made by video submission so you should, by midday UK time on 17 January, upload into Acceptd the items specified on https://www.ram.ac.uk/study/departments/opera/audition-requirements : Repetiteur section. You will hear during February if you have been called for the Second Round which will take place in early March. Candidates for this course do not need to provide a Prof Dip Specialist Proposal.
