Songs are at the core of popular music - their ability to allow people to experience a range of human emotions, means that they have great cultural significance across the globe. Do you want to learn how to write great songs? Are you an artist who wants to develop your style and musical identity? Our songwriting programme will provide you with the platform to write, create, produce and market your music - all delivered by industry professionals. The course will instil the basic principles of songwriting before developing a variety of advanced techniques reflecting industry standard practice, such as stylistic composition and production, the art of lyric and melody writing, including the importance of collaboration and writing to a brief. The aim is to foster learners into professional music practitioners with a thorough understanding of the creative music industry. Therefore, learning will also include Music Production (Ableton & Logic Pro), Vocal Production, Mixing & Audio Recording, Composition Techniques, Music Industry, Branding & Marketing. Point Blank is located in a vibrant and thriving international city, situated in the creative sector of London, with industry standard facilities and state-of-the-art technology.

IELTS (Academic)6A minimum 5.5 is required in each area (Speaking, Listening, Reading, Writing)

All applicants must be able to demonstrate English language at CEFR level B2, equivalent to grade C / 4 at GCSE. Please note this requirement also applies to mature students (21 or over) without formal qualifications who have been admitted based on their admissions test and/or prior experience. All international students requiring visa sponsorship require an IELTS Academic test. If you are an international student applying for a Student Visa and do not currently have a valid IELTS Academic test, Point Blank will be happy to provide a fee waiver of 185 GBP, to be waived from your fees upon successful registration only. Point Blank will not provide further waivers for resits and the IELTS test booking receipt must be provided as proof of test fee paid. Fee waivers are applicable to tests completed post-application date only.
