Course summary
BA (Hons) Music Production & Songwriting degree is designed for aspiring songwriters, producers and composers who want to shape their musical identity, refine their craft and build a career in the music industry. This programme provides you with the all the skills, confidence and industry insights you will need to find success. In the first term of this course you’ll get to experience a professional two-day songwriting boot camp at Osea Island, a destination for the creative industries that has played host to major film & music productions, away from the hustle and bustle of London life. A trip like this is absolutely vital for anybody that wants to be a songwriter or produce great art. Throughout the programme, you’ll learn the core principles of songwriting, from lyrical and melodic composition to creating arrangements that captivate listeners. As you progress, you’ll develop advanced techniques in stylistic composition, vocal production and collaborative songwriting as well as working on briefs that mirror real-world industry demands. You’ll gain hands-on experience in music production, learning how to create, produce and market your music to a professional standard.

All applicants must be able to demonstrate English language at CEFR level B2, equivalent to grade C / 4 at GCSE. Please note this requirement also applies to mature students (21 or over) without formal qualifications who have been admitted based on their admissions test and/or prior experience. All international students requiring visa sponsorship require an IELTS Academic test. If you are an international student applying for a Student Visa and do not currently have a valid IELTS Academic test, Point Blank will be happy to provide a fee waiver of 185 GBP, to be waived from your fees upon successful registration only. Point Blank will not provide further waivers for resits and the IELTS test booking receipt must be provided as proof of test fee paid. Fee waivers are applicable to tests completed post-application date only.
