Course Overview Our Foundation Degree in Hearing Aid Audiology allows you to earn as you learn. It's for professionals currently working within an audiology setting. Why study with us
- Continue to earn as you learn by working in an audiology setting throughout the programme.
- Our blended learning approach combines learning in your workplace with online study as well as residential block weeks on the University campus.
- On successful completion, you can apply to join the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) with a view to registering as a Hearing Aid Dispenser.
- Gain the knowledge and skills required to provide assessment and rehabilitation associated with the provision of hearing aids for adults.
- Develop practical skills within your workplace, supported by a dedicated Practice Educator. You’ll also get to spend time in the University’s clinical suite to enhance your skills.
- You'll have access to our excellent facilities on-campus. Including our Library and IT facilities, clinical suites and a wealth of online resources.

Qualification requirements
GCSE/National 4/National 5
You must be working in a suitable audiology setting, with a suitably qualified and experienced Practice Educator* in place. Each Practice Educator must have a recognised qualification in Audiology or Hearing Aid Audiology (BAAT parts 1 and 2 / BSc (Hons) Audiology / BSc (Hons) in Healthcare Science (Audiology) Practitioner Training Programme (PTP) / PGDip or MSc Audiology with Certificate of Clinical Competence or equivalent / MSc in Clinical Science (Neurosensory Sciences) Scientist Training Programme (STP) / Foundation Degree Hearing Aid Audiology / Diploma in Higher Education in Hearing Aid Audiology or foreign equivalent), AND a minimum of two years post-qualification experience AND HCCP registered and/or on the voluntary RCCP or AHCS register or eligible to register with RCCP or AHCS.
