The PG Diploma in Leadership Practice programme provides a flexible, bespoke work-based route to a postgraduate qualification. It is a progression route for students intending to specialise in Leadership who have completed one of the following awards:
  • PGCert Leadership and Management 60 credits
  • PGCert Leadership and Management (Healthcare) 60 credits
  • PGCert Professional Practice (60 credits)
  • PGCert Professional Development (60 credits) dependent on modules completed.
MSc Our Leadership Practice MSc programme provides a flexible, bespoke work-based route to a postgraduate qualification. As their focus, these courses have one or more work-based projects, which are supported by your own personal learning and development. You will benefit from a highly relevant, customised course, facilitated mainly online, which also delivers outcomes for your organisation. The key course components allow for high levels of customisation, choice and negotiation. The MSc in Leadership Practice is a progression route from the Senior Leader Apprenticeship and so you may be able to fund the PGDip part of your programme through the Apprenticeship Levy, or through government sponsorship: contact our Apprenticeship team for advice. Please note that there are constraints on timescales and customisation options for the Apprenticeship route.


Entry requirements

The Senior Leader Apprenticeship is suitable for current and aspiring senior leaders in public, private or third sector organisations. You will typically have a first degree and a minimum of 3 years’ management/leadership experience. Admission to the programme is dependent on aptitude and experience; prior qualifications are not always necessary. A minimum of Grade C/4 in GCSE English and mathematics (or Functional Skills Level 2 equivalent).* Admission to the Executive MBA pathway requires a first degree and five years’ relevant management/leadership experience. * Applicants who do not meet the maths/English entry requirements will be considered on a case by case basis, for exceptional entry. If admitted, Apprentices must achieve Functional Skills Level 2 in both subjects by the end of the programme.
