Course summary

Take a step towards becoming a Chartered Town Planner by studying policy issues, sustainability and wellbeing, and learning how to respond to current urban challenges. Whether you’re a recent graduate in a related subject, or a professional working in the field, this innovative, accredited course will allow you to investigate the latest issues and developments in housing, regeneration and urban management and join the path to becoming a Chartered Town Planner. As part of your course you’ll:

Find out more Industry recognised Accredited by the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) and the Chartered Institute of Housing (CIH), this course will give you eligibility for chartered membership of the CIH and licentiate membership of the RTPI when you graduate, putting you on the main pathway to qualify as a Chartered Town Planner. Entry requirements

Applicants should either have at least a 2nd Class Honours degree in the cognate subjects of housing, health, geography, planning, social sciences or a professionally orientated subject of teaching, environmental health or community work, at least a 2nd Class Honours degree in a non-cognate subject supported by evidence of an aptitude for the subject applied for, or have equivalent experience or training, normally from within the work environment. Experience in this instance would be assessed by the course team and supported by a reflective essay. All applications should be supported by a reference, either academic or professional. Applicants whose 1st language is not English require IELTS 6.0 (with a minimum 5.5 in each component) or equivalent.
