Course summary
Our BA (Hons) Electronic Music Production degree is for future-focused music creators who want to innovate in the world of beats, basslines and immersive soundscapes. From house and techno to experimental and ambient, this course helps you define your style as an electronic producer. You’ll work with Digital Audio Workstations (DAWs) like Ableton and Logic, mastering sampling, synthesis, sound manipulation and live performance techniques. As you progress, you’ll explore everything from digital production and DJ skills to music cultures and creative technologies, always connecting practical learning to industry trends. You’ll also collaborate with other students on original projects – from producing dance tracks and performing live sets to creating music for games, film or art installations. Final-year projects allow you to showcase your sound and vision through a fully produced EP, performance, or audio-visual work. Whether your ambition lies in production, performance, digital artistry, or creating for media – this course will give you all the tools and creative freedom to thrive in an exciting, inspired industry.
Assessment method
The course is assessed in a variety of ways to reflect the diversity of creative and professional practice. Assessment methods include musical portfolios, recordings, technical tests, in class assessments, presentations and written work.

Additional entry requirements: Applicants should also have achieved a minimum of three GCSEs at Grade C/4 or above. UCAS tariff points from music graded exams are also accepted (highest achieved per instrument (grade 6 and above), awarded by ABRSM, London College of Music, Trinity College, Rock School). English Language requirements: All applicants must meet the minimum English Language requirement, as set by the conservatoire. For UK applicants this is GCSE English Language at grade C/4. Equivalent qualifications, such as Functional Skills English Level 2 or National 5 English grade C, will also be accepted. For applicants that require a Student Visa to study in the UK, the standard requirement is IELTS 6.0 with no sub-test less than 5.5.
