Course summary
Our BEng in Biomedical Engineering is designed to equip students with the interdisciplinary knowledge, practical skills, and hands-on experience required to drive innovation in healthcare, biotechnology, and the medical device industries. The curriculum provides a strong foundation in core engineering principles, including electrical, electronic, programming, and mechanical engineering, while integrating key aspects of biological sciences. Students will gain expertise in designing medical devices and systems, leveraging digital health technologies, and addressing emerging challenges in healthcare. The program emphasises identifying and solving real-world healthcare problems such as developing advanced surgical tools, creating prosthetics, and designing biosensors. Students will also engage in cutting-edge biomedical research, foster innovation, and apply ethical principles to their work. This programme prepares students for a wide range of impactful careers at the intersection of engineering, biology, and healthcare, for example as biomedical engineers, medical device designers, R&D specialists, healthcare consultants, or in regulatory affairs.
