Our foundation year is designed to give you a solid base in sport, physical activity and health. This will allow you to progress onto a full degree. Our foundation year prepares you to study at university. You’ll learn how to write academically, take notes, and work both independently and as part of a group. You’ll also explore current issues in sport, physical activity and wellbeing. This will help to build your understanding of the field as a whole, as you engage in key debates and discussions. You’ll then carry out your own project or create a portfolio on a topic of interest. This will develop your academic and research skills. Upon successful completion of your foundation year, you can progress on to the Physical Education and Sport degree. You’ll learn how to create engaging PE lessons that motivate students of all ages and abilities. Our degree focuses making sport accessible and fun. You will study how to create inclusive physical education environments and work with children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). You’ll have the opportunity to work in schools, SEND services or sports organisations.
