Our Fine Art and Illustration BA(Hons) course covers a range of Illustration practices via contemporary Fine Art approaches, such as painting, drawing, design, installation, film, digital art, and photography. With a focus on Illustration, this course will prepare you for a career as a professional artist or illustrator, which could include exhibiting in galleries, or creating content for the web, books, graphic novels, animations. You’ll be taught by tutors who have professional industry experience, working in our custom-built art and design Barbara Hepworth building, which features collaborative studios, photography studios and exhibition space. Assessment method
Much of the work on this course is studio-based, and teaching is delivered through group tutorials, workshops, live projects, lectures, optional study trips (national and international), seminars and individual tutorials. Assessment includes verbal and illustrative presentations of your practical and developmental work, written work for contextual analysis and assignments, plus self-assessment, and evaluation. Your module specification/course handbook provides full details of the assessment criteria.
