Course summary
This degree will prepare you to kickstart your career as a midwife, enabling you upon graduation to register with the Nursing and Midwifery Council. Midwives provide care and support to women and their families during all stages of pregnancy, including delivery of new life and, labour and the early postnatal period. This programme follows the Standards for Pre-Registration Midwifery programmes set by the NMC.

Coursework will include presentations, practical exams, workbooks and research-based assignments. The approximate percentages for this course are: Year 1: 80% coursework, 20% practical Year 2: 40% coursework, 40% practical, 20% exam Year 3: 60% coursework, 40% practical
