Established in the 1950s, this course has a long and prestigious history, with graduates going on to successful careers across industry, research and academia. Today, it remains one of the UK’s leading metallurgy programmes, built on world-class teaching and research in materials science and engineering. You’ll gain an advanced understanding of the science and engineering of metallic materials – from the fundamental principles of thermodynamics, phase transformations and mechanical behaviour, to modern alloy design, powder metallurgy, and high-temperature performance.
