Are you interested in how businesses work and how they can make the world a better place? Our CertHE Business and Management course, at Carmarthen campus, will teach you all about this. You’ll learn about how businesses can help improve society and the environment, not just make money. In this course, you will study how companies are run, how they fit into the economy, and how they operate in a changing world. You’ll gain skills that are important for a career in business, such as thinking critically, solving problems, being creative, and reflecting on your experiences. We focus on looking ahead to the future. You’ll learn to think about the impact of your actions and how businesses can change to support a sustainable future. Modules

You will explore the fundamentals of business and management. You will learn about global business challenges, management approaches and sustainable finance, gaining a strong foundation in each area. You will also develop key skills in communication, teamwork, and problem-solving, preparing you for more advanced studies. Focusing on applying your knowledge to real-world scenarios, enhancing your ability to think critically and make informed decisions in a business context. Assessment method

The BA Business and Management programme is assessed by a combination of innovative and more traditional methods which are designed to develop students’ understanding, problem-solving and creative thinking during their three years of study. Assessments are closely linked to learning activities, where students build understanding and skills in weekly sessions and are able to learn from formative assessment throughout the programme.

If you are not from the UK and you do not already have residency here, you may need to apply for a visa.   For courses of more than six months’ duration you will require a Student visa.   International students who require a Student visa should apply for our full-time courses as these qualify for Student visa sponsorship.    For full information read our visa application and guides.     Please note students receiving US Federal Aid are only able to apply for in-person, on-campus programmes which will have no elements of online study.

English language requirements

If English is not your first language or you have not previously studied in English, our usual requirement is the equivalent of an International English Language Testing System (IELTS Academic Test) score of 6.0, with not less than 5.5 in each of the sub-tests. We also accept other English language tests.

Additional fee information

It is possible to complete this programme of study without any additional costs. Students may wish to purchase materials for modules, such as a major project but this is not a requirement and will have no bearing on the final grade. Students may also wish to attend optional overnight field visits in the UK or overseas at some point during their programme of study, with an estimate of £600-£1000. Again, attendance at additional overnight field visits are not compulsory and have no bearing on the final grade. Costs for field visits which are part of modules are included in course fees.
