Course summary

AI is revolutionising scientific research and driving breakthroughs and innovation: from the development of new materials to drug discovery, genomics, diagnosing patients, green energy, and even generating research ideas. This distinctive new Master’s programme is designed is for talented science and maths graduates to lead the future of AI for Science. Taught by world-leading academics from across our science and health faculties, and further enriched by expertise from our social sciences, arts, humanities and business schools, this programme will give you the AI skills you need in the context of the ethical, legal and environmental applications and implications of AI for the future of scientific discovery. Elevating your expertise in a rapidly changing world, you will be trained as a flexible AI adopter by working on group projects based on real-world challenges from industry and academia. You will also have the opportunity to take a final year project in a laboratory or industry-based challenge with external partners.


Entry requirements

BSc or BEng with 2:1 honours in Engineering or other relevant subject e.g. physics, mathematics, computer science. In order to meet the academic entry requirements for this programme you should have a minimum 2:1 undergraduate degree with a final mark of at least 60% or above in the UK marking scheme. If you are still studying you should be achieving an average of at least 60% or above in the UK marking scheme.
