Course summary
This course explores Hebrew from scratch; Jeremiah; Greek from scratch; the book of revelation; the doctrine of creation and environmental ethics; contemporary issues in theology.
Modules
Core modules: theological research; reading and using the bible; studying Christian theology; spirituality (short unit); dissertation. Optional modules: the mission of justice and the theology of law; theological aesthetics; old testament theology; Hebrew from scratch; Jeremiah; Greek from scratch; the book of revelation; the doctrine of creation and environmental ethics; contemporary issues in theology; the history of evangelicalism; worship, preaching and pastoral care; church planting and pioneer ministry; chaplaincy.
Assessment method
Students are assessed in a variety of ways such as essays and projects totalling up to 8000 words per unit. The compulsory unit on Theological Research is taken last in Part One because it is preparation for the dissertation; the assignment for this unit is to write a dissertation proposal. The only examinations are for the optional units on the biblical languages Hebrew and Greek.
