Course summary

Develop your understanding and knowledge of education in a primary school context, and expand your skills, through our Education Studies: Primary degree programme. This degree focuses on education in a wide context, including the importance of inclusion issues, how children learn and the professional values and practice involved in primary education. BA Education Studies: Primary is one of the very few degree programmes in the UK which focus on studying education in the primary school sector. This course is also available through the medium of Welsh.

Year Two - Level 5 (Dip HE & BA) • All Means All (20 credits; compulsory) • Alternative Learning Environments (20 credits; compulsory) • Becoming a Primary Educator (20 credits; compulsory) • Changemakers: Building your Personal Brand for Sustainable Employment (20 credits; compulsory; Graduate Attributes Framework module) • Changemakers: Creativity and Value Creation (20 credits; compulsory; Graduate Attributes Framework module) • Educational Research (20 credits; compulsory). Year Three - Level 6 (BA) • Curriculum and Assessment Studies (20 credits; compulsory) • Independent Project (40 credits; compulsory; Graduate Attributes Framework module) • Learning Climates (20 credits; compulsory) • Making a Difference Together (20 credits; compulsory) • Well-being in Education (20 credits; compulsory).

Assessment method

Assessments include individual and group presentations, academic poster presentations, portfolios, written assignments and case studies. There are no examinations.
