The Education Studies BA (Hons) Top-up Level 6 is awarded by the University of Derby and is designed to provide an excellent progression route and develop the knowledge you've already gained on your HND or Foundation Degree in learning support/education or early childhood, with a further stage of study which results in a full honours degree. Learn the essential skills and best practices for working within the education sector, including early years, schools, and further education. Grasp the opportunity to engage in an independent project based around your individual vocational situation or educational interest. As a University of Derby partner student, you will have access to the university’s virtual learning environment, including University of Derby Online (UDO) and online journals and texts, as well as library facilities. Modules Include: Independent Study in Education Entrepreneurial Education Left Behind and Left Out - Social Exclusion and Education The Future of Education The Science of Learning and the Art of Teaching It is also recommended that you undertake a study placement, if you are not employed or volunteering in an appropriate education setting. You will need to make you own arrangement securing a placement and undertaking the relevant procedures that are required by the organisation. This would include a DBS check, which you might be required to pay for.

Qualification requirements
The entry qualifications for the BA (Hons) in Education Studies Top-Up are 240 credits at Level 4 and 5. For example a Foundation Degree, in a related subject area (Education or Early childhood). Other Level 5 qualifications will be considered on an individual basis. Please note, all applications for the BA (Hons) in Education Studies Top-Up will be passed to the University of Derby for final approval. Your offer to study with us will be conditional as all applications are to be approved by the University of Derby. All applications are subject to approval by the University of Derby (UoD). In order for the University to approve your application we are required to share your personal information. This includes sharing the application form that you have completed to study this course, and in some instances, copies of your maths, English and highest-level qualification certificate.
