Modules
In the Anthropology element of the course, what you study includes: Biological anthropology examines humans within a broad evolutionary framework, including variation in biological characteristics, genes, diseases, the interaction between people and their environment, and the behaviours and comparative anatomy of primates and early hominins. Social anthropology includes the cross-cultural study of social organisation, kinship and gender, political structure, economic institutions, religion and ritual, values and beliefs, and social change. In the Geography element of the course, what you study includes: Year 1 core modules include two introductory modules to human geography and environmental geography. In Years 2 and 3, you specialise in the areas of geography that interest you most. The Year 2 compulsory Geographical Enquiry and Field Research module emphasises the importance of fieldwork as part of your training and is undertaken as part of a week-long residential.
